HVB Supports Distribution of Clothes

A team of 10 members from the United Kingdom, were thrilled to be part of a service project in Prashanti Nilayam, India, feeding and distributing clothes to 50,000 members of the locality. The income per capita for this population is well below average and so, HVB, felt it appropriate to provide some relief in the form of providing basic requirements of appropriate clothing and food. This activity also coincided with death anniversary of the founder of HVB, Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who resided in Prashanti Nilayam also.

During the teams visit to the area, it was bought to our attention the need for mobile medical vans with Intensive Care level facilities. In true HVB tradition and principle, where there is a need, HVB will commit to deliver, and so 2 vans will be procured this year and 2 next year. Along, with this, 3 toilets will be built for children attending the local schools, with construction already commenced. Improvement of sanitation in India is a priority, and HVB continues to support this cause with its direct impact on reducing burden of certain transmittable medical diseases. We look forward to getting involved with many projects across the world. Please do contact us for further information at trustees@heartvalvebank.info
