Covid-19 Relief & Support

With the kind & generous support of all its donors, Heart Valve Bank has been able to provide assistance to various projects in India and especially at this time when COVID-19 has caused great misery to our brothers and sisters in India. Following are the recent projects taken up by HVB: Supply of 10 Oxygen concentrators, 100 Oximeters and 2000 N95 masks for the Ramakrishna Mission Rajkot for the Covid-19 relief work. HVB Supports underprivileged children

Heart Valve Bank is pleased to report that it has recently partnered with 'Saajha - Charter for Compassion’ in supporting the education of underprivileged children in Delhi, India. Saajha campaigns to digitally enable children to distance learn by providing handheld devices for education. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic all education in India was delivered online. With significant poverty and economic inequality, access to education and learning was significantly affected. Many children were therefore disconnected to their schools with access to learning materials severely affected. The impact on underprivileged girls was most severely felt. For these girls, it became a period of being absorbed in house hold tasks and childcare responsibilities and even child labour to support the family income. West Bengal is the fourth most populous state in India with a population of approximately 90 million. 1 in 5 people in the state live below the poverty line and are at significant risk of Malaria, diarrhoeal disease, acute respiratory infections and malnutrition as well as being affected by regular flooding during the monsoon season. Recent Activities

HVB is happy to announce that we supported our first kidney transplant as well as providing hearing to Ayush, a 2 year old who is deaf and dumb. Ayush will be operated at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai and we wish him well in his recovery. (more…)
