Life saving gift directly from your salary

The advantages of contribution from your payroll are:

  • Your contributions are absolutely tax-free as it is deducted from your salary before tax.
This means that if your contribution is £50 per month, your salary reduces by only £40 per
month if you are a basic rate tax payer. If you pay tax at the higher rate of 40% then your
    salary reduces by only £30.

You can obtain more information from
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/individuals/giving/payroll.htm
Ask your employer’s personnel department whether they are registered for
payroll giving. If so they will provide a form for you to complete. The charity
number of the Heart Valve Bank is 1098035.

Gift Aid Relief

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can make your gift worth even more. Simply click
here
to print off the Gift Aid declaration. Then please complete the Gift Aid
declaration and forward it to the address shown on the form. If you do this,
Heart Valve Bank will receive an additional 25% over and above the gift you give and it will not cost you a penny extra.

Also higher rate taxpayers can claim the difference between the higher rate of
tax of 40% and the basic rate of 20% on their self assessment return. This
means that your contribution costs you even less because of the tax savings.
